Corporate puppy therapy: Why we only work with adult dogs
17 September 2026Fresher's week was the setting for our latest visit to Tribeka - Prestige Student Living in Leeds.
After a quick game of 'who got to bed the latest last night? (the winner was 5am by the way), our team of Cayt, Fern, Opie and Star got to work.
We're used to bringing an atmosphere of calm relaxation into busy environments, but it's safe to say there were some tired eyes amongst the first group of students, so in this case it was up to the dogs to bring the energy levels up.
And they did it in style. Our cocker spaniel Fern was on form, bouncing and buzzing between everyone in the room, while Labrador Cayt also did her bit, dropping onto people's laps and rolling over for tummy rubs at every opportunity.

As the event went on, the students who'd treated themselves to a longer lie-in arrived and the conversations started to flow. Many of them had never met before and it was lovely to see new friendships forming to the backdrop of wagging tails and paws padding around the room. Sometimes there's no better icebreaker than a cute dog (or four).
By this point Opie and Star's laid-back personalities provided the pawfect balance to Fern and Cayt's liveliness, giving the students a healthy fix of feel-good hormones. The huge glass walls of our room meant everyone walking past couldn't help but stop to look at what was going on, and more than a couple of people asked if they could join in once they realised what they were missing out on.
At the end of the two hours, the dogs had given everything they could and were all happy to lie sleepily as the last group enjoyed a chilled-out stroking session.
With a full academic year ahead, the students will soon be buried in books, lecture notes and no doubt a hectic social schedule, so we hope their Moment to Paws reminded them to find time for themselves and proactively look after thelr mental health. We love doing our bit to help with that and look forward to going back soon!
