Therapy Dogs Help Staff & Students De-Stress at Leeds Business School
30 July 2025Looking to boost morale, reduce stress, and support mental health at work? A Moment to Paws workplace dog therapy session might be just what your team needs.
Whether you’re based in Leeds, York, Sheffield, Doncaster, Manchester, or elsewhere in Yorkshire, we specialise in bringing professionally assessed therapy dogs into offices and corporate settings — creating memorable, calming experiences for your staff.
In this post, we’ll walk you through exactly what happens at a corporate dog therapy event and how to prepare.
First things first: Who we are
Founded in 2020, Moment to Paws is one of the UK’s leading providers of therapy dog visits to workplaces. Our mission is simple: to help improve mental health and reduce stress through the proven power of animal-assisted therapy.
We’ve supported thousands of employees across Yorkshire with fun, therapeutic and professionally managed office dog therapy sessions — and the results speak for themselves.
Event day — how it works
A standard event lasts around two hours, with a structured format that helps everything run smoothly — for both people and pups.
Here’s how it typically flows:
- 1 hour before your session starts, we arrive to set up and make sure our dogs have time to settle in the space.
- We’ll bring 4 dogs and between 2 to 4 team members, depending on the size of your event.
- The space is transformed with comfy cushions (fair warning: you may need to negotiate with a spaniel for one), relaxing music, signage, lint rollers (fur happens!), and allergy-aware touches.

Session structure
Before the event, your team will be invited to register for a specific time slot. This helps us manage the flow of people and ensures everyone gets meaningful time with the dogs without overwhelming them.
Depending on how many participants there are, each person can expect around 10 to 20 minutes of one-on-one (or one-on-four!) time with the pups.
A two-hour event might look like:
- 6 x 15-minute sessions, or
- 9 x 10-minute sessions
… with a 30-minute welfare break for the dogs in the middle. Because self-care isn’t just for humans.
Setting the scene
All we need is a secure, quiet room where tables and chairs can be moved to the side. We’ll do the rest — bringing everything needed to create a calm, welcoming environment.
At the end of the session, we’ll clean up and leave the space exactly as we found it (yes, we travel with a vacuum!).
What actually happens during a session?
Short answer: You pause. You smile. You breathe.
Slightly longer answer: During your time with the dogs, we encourage you to fully switch off from work. Cuddle the dogs, talk to them, talk to us, share stories about your own pets, or just sit quietly and enjoy the moment.
It’s a powerful, human experience — and it only takes a few minutes of therapy dog interaction to make a noticeable difference in mood, energy, and wellbeing.
Available Across Yorkshire
We regularly run dog therapy workplace events in:
- Leeds
- Sheffield
- York
- Doncaster
- Manchester
…and beyond.
If your company is based in Yorkshire or the North of England, we’d love to bring our therapy dogs to your office.
Final woof
These sessions are about more than just petting dogs (though that’s a major perk). They’re about creating space for connection, calm, and care — both for yourself and your team.
If you’re thinking of booking a visit from us, get ready to feel a little brighter, a little more grounded, and maybe even leave with a few paw prints on your heart (and possibly your trousers — don’t worry, we bring lint rollers!).
