Corporate Dog Therapy Events: The Top 3 Questions We’re Always Asked

Pawsome Visit to IKEA Doncaster
30 April 2026Labrador Cayt joined the Moment to Paws team in 2024, and with ten events under her collar, she’s already gained a reputation as the ‘goofy one’.
Her owner Paul shares her story.
How long have you had Cayt?
We’ve had Cayt since she was a puppy. We’d always wanted a dog and, as parents of two young children, felt it would be nice if they grew up with one in the family.
We made the decision during Covid, but fortunately by the time we’d found a breeder we liked and waited for the litter to be born, we were coming out of lockdown in 2021. That meant we were able to visit the puppies in person and the kids could meet Cayt at just a few weeks old before we officially collected her.
Why a Labrador?
I grew up around Labradors as my family did Guide Dog puppy walking—essentially fostering puppies for their first year before they begin training to work with a blind person. So there was never really any doubt what breed we were going to get.
Despite being familiar with Labradors, my memories were all as a child, so it was still a steep learning curve having one as a responsible adult. For the first couple of years they definitely keep you on your toes, but from the age of about three, Cayt calmed down and has become the most loyal, friendly, easy-going member of the family we could wish for.
She does still have her cheeky streak though, which often comes out at Moment to Paws events.

Where does her name come from?
People often assume her name is ‘Kate’ until they see it written down, and if they’ve not heard it said out loud we get all sorts of pronunciations.
It’s actually short for ‘Cayton’, as in Cayton Bay on the Yorkshire coast—one of our favourite places to go as a family. Cayt has been to the beach there a few times herself and absolutely loves it.
Her official name is Mekoro Vesper (Mekoro Labradors being the kennel we got her from). She and her littermates were all born in the evening, so they were given night-related names.
What made you apply to join the Moment to Paws team?
Cayt absolutely loves people, particularly new ones she hasn’t met before. She’s not shy in seeking out fuss and attention and can’t get enough strokes, cuddles, and tummy rubs.
I’d also seen the positive effect she has on our family—helping to calm the kids and keep us all active—so I started looking into how she could benefit more people. When I came across Moment to Paws, it felt like a perfect fit.
How does Cayt find the events?
She can’t wait to get into the room when she realises where she is. She gets excited and wants to say hello to everyone—human and canine alike—and has a habit of collapsing at your feet for a tummy rub, which is where her ‘goofy’ reputation comes from.
One of the great things about Moment to Paws events is that the dogs are carefully selected to bring a mix of personalities. So while Cayt brings lots of energy, there are also calmer dogs to make sure there’s something for everyone.
I love coming along to events and seeing the smiles on people’s faces, and watching the stresses of the day fade away for a couple of hours.
I’m hoping Cayt will be part of that for a long time to come.
